Meh -

What a non-event. Suddenly this guy no one ever heard of is the secret Rove of Rove or something.

The Ap overstated it best when they said, "Though Libby has worked in relative obscurity, he is one of the administration's influential advisers because of his proximity to Cheney, one of the most powerful vice presidents in history."

Wow. What a stretch.

What they failed to mention is no one was charged with outing Plame. How is that not the key issue!

Sure, hindering the investigation is not good, and ol' Scooter's gonna hang, and that's all good.

But after all this time it comes around that no one outed Plame.
Its a non-story.

Talk about anti-climatic.

Wow - reading what you want, huh?

Skip the part about Scooter hanging and that being all good? (After a trial of course. This is just an indictment.)

Happy Fitzmas y'all.

Oh, just saw the news - your boy Marion Barry, indicted again.

All in all, I'll take Scooter.

I must've missed the part where Marion Barry was the advisor to the Vice President. But no matter! He's a Democrat!

Engage false equivalence, for great justice!

The key difference, as I see it Luke, is that Scooter is just some functionary, whereas Marion was elected by your team.

You are correct that its not at all the same thing.

yeah--maybe if they'd quit calling him an "aide" it would sound less like he escorts pepole to their seats at the local community theater production of "Pippin". But what can you do? I greedily wanted Rove, but I'll take whatever I can get and then watch what I hope will be a nifty chain reaction.

StPaul_DFLer -

Why is you guys have such a hard time believing you are the minority? How many elections do you have to be pummelled in before you start to realize that the odd thing is that there are so many of you, not so many of us.

Of course collectivism isn't our gig, that may explain some of it.

Anyway, how about news thread? I have some ideas -

1. New SCOTUS nominee
2. Riots in Paris (4 days now)
3. High oil prices = Giant Tax windfall
4. Looming exec priviledge battle in Scooter's case

I suppose we could ge into the last one here, but if all you have is "Aw shucks... I thought this would bring Bush down for sure..."
Well, it won't be very sporting. You guys got a plan for 2008 or are you going to wing it again?

I like that Censored has a mini-blog wihin our comments section.

What's really silly? Thinking either Repubs or Dems have some decisive dominance in this country. The pendulum has now swung too far to the right (or too far inside a false powerdrunk reality) and crashed -- opening it up for Dems to come in and bring dignity back to public office. Then they'll probably screw it up, and so on.

It's a lot like sports, and it's that aspect of party politics that repulses me. But we have to be invested in the process because the outcome affects life around the world.
