Gloating would be wrong...

AP: "DeLay will likely be booked in a Texas county jail this week despite attempts by his attorneys to bypass the fingerprinting and mug shot process."

But it's so, so, so hard not to.

Why not wait until conviction, one can indite a ham sandwich if you get the right grand jury, took ol' Mr. Earle three grand juries to get it done. The first indictment went away once Mr. Earle had to allow Mr. Delay the oportunity to defend hinself. The second one is based on the same sound legal foundation as the first. Should last as long as a floodwall in New Orleans.

Dave,

What? Waiting for actual "evidence" and a "conviction?" You must be a fascist!

The whole thing - like the "indictment" of Ron Eibensteiner on campaign finance violations in Maurer County - is part of a larger Dem strategy to bring *indictments*, no matter how frivolous, against Republicans, so that their talking heads can endlessly chant "indicted! indicted!".

But Luke did hit it on the head; it IS all about giving the Dems material for campaign ads. And since the mainstream media will *never* report it when (that's *when*) the charges are dropped and the indictment is quashed - well, it's money well spent.

Witness the GOP in full crybaby mode. The party that controls the White House and both houses of Congress fumbles their agenda like Culpepper and claims victim status. Is that amusing or just sad?

It's sad. The GOP would indicte any dem anytime if they had the goods, which they obviously don't. Delay has been dirty for a long time.

I am all for waiting for a conviction though.

Oh and Mitch-- What democratic talking heads?

Mitch, tell me that if Hillary Clinton was indited, you wouldn't use her mugshot in a campaign ad against her.

Just tell me that.

Then I will laugh at you.

Your compatriots have smeared WAR HEROS multiple times! And now, "Oh no, he can indite a ham sandwhich, it would be wrong to use that against us."

So much for the party of "Law and Order"

Clinton was not impeach because he had sex with Monica Lewinski, if he can get away with that with the his wife, fine privacy and all that. He was impeached for PERJURY, was subsequently fined and disbarred and rightly so. You can continue to fantasize that it was about sex, it was not.

Have you taken the time to read the indictments, follow all the goings on with Mr. Earle and then read the response from Mr. Delay and company legal representation? If you have at least a basic understanding of our fine legal system it is hard to see how this case can go forward to conviction.

As I posted originally the first indictment went away after the first round of legal representation for Mr. Delay. To me that is a good starting point to test whether Mr. Earle is in fact onto something or just being the political hack that some are accusing him of being.

Its fair.

The GOP brings up Clinton's impeachment all the time.

Some folks like nobodymn are still on the spin that the issue is getting a little love.

The issue was lying to a court about it, when that court was investigating another claim of harrasment and trying to establish a pattern, then covering it up. Then attacking the fat-chick when she told the truth, and only when she had proven her allegations deciding that it was time for forgiveness.

I'm content to compare that to "handled funds the wrong way, maybe...if we can even show knowledge..."

So we'll have that conversation. Interesting that it comes at a time when the Miers nomination will be looking directly at the role of the courts. Having the House Majority lead harrassed with silly indictments only to have charges dismissed multiple times ought to set a clear example to the people of one reason judicial change is needed.

Careful what you wish for.

-Censored.
