Nation Still Sane

Poll: Many Back Right to Protest Iraq War

An overwhelming number of people say critics of the Iraq war should be free to voice their objections - a rare example of widespread agreement about a conflict that has divided the nation along partisan lines.

Nearly three weeks after a grieving California mother named Cindy Sheehan started her anti-war protest near President Bush's Texas ranch, nine of 10 people surveyed in an AP-Ipsos poll say it's OK for war opponents to publicly share their concerns about the conflict.

"Part of the Constitution is the First Amendment," said Mike Malone, a salesman from Odessa, Fla. "We have the right to disagree with the government."

The jury is still out on what percentage of Americans back the right to blog against the war.

"We have a right to disagree with the government."

What a novel idea.

Absolutely, I disagreed with Clinton with 8 years.

Does this some how equate to support for the protesting morons in Crawford in your twisted mind?

It shouldn't. Here's another NEWS FLASH for you. Stupid people are still subject to ridicule.

Ridiculing grieving mothers?

A new low, or just business as usual?

She's pitiful, and in the real sense of the word, I do pity her. But she's also a tool, this whole "spontanious" event is turning out to be organized by the same moveon clowns who have made careers of hating America.

But again, agreeing people have a right to protest doesn't mean agreeing with the protesters opinions.

Its pretty clear from the little bit of her I've been subjected to, why her son would choose to spend his time in Iraq rather than around her.

I'm just waiting for moveon to drop her like a hot potato when they realize its just not playing.

These guys are abusing the MSM and they are hanging out down there and need a story. They aren't providing it. They will find another. This weekends big story is going to be Bethany Berry. Just watch.

You really should feel sheepish that you wrote such a low grade of trash that it doesn't even hold up to your own patriotic rhetoric. Really, every word of that is several different kinds of awful crap.

Read it again Swiftee.

I'm not Swiftee, and pretending that there's only person who opposes you is a very common Dem mistake.

Regardless, I'm serious. Have you heard anything about this guy. He's was a real stand up trooper, to think he'd appreciate the actions others are taking in his name is wrong.

I really don't understand the idea Dems hold that victim=authority. Patty Wetterling is the same. Her only claim to fame is losing a kid. Same with this dingbat. Why does that make them people to be listened to.

You might get further listening to people who succeed rather than loose big. And if you do want to help people who are suffering then look at reports of Dufor and then call your buddy Kofi.

We were intended to be a nation governed by citizens.

I don't know what "authority" has to do with any of this, but if you think wealth, social status, political connections or who your pappy is has anything to do with fitness to lead, then you, sir, are the pathetic creature and, might I add, the victim.

You know Tom,

"Social Status" is just some sort of classism renaming and utter nonsense.

The reason you didn't get dates with hot girls wasn't that you didn't have the right social status, it was that you're unpopular and a dork. I know you can think of examples of plain guys who succeed and rich kids who screw up. You just never rose to the challenge.

So again, you can reject the obvious notion that successful people are likely to succeed again, and choose folks like Wetterling, I'm just wondering why? Is it envy? Do you want to be victims too? Serious, what gives?

Why is stature accorded victims in your world?

1) Swiftee has been known to use multiple aliases. And Swiftee is the only commenter "banned" from New Patriot. Don't make me look at those IP addresses.

2) Re: hot dates/dork/etc - Tom happens to be married to a hot girl, but no matter. Keep up the personal attacks and you're banned.

3) Nobody in this thread has mentioned Wetterling - you really have no point so you're shooting bullshit in every direction.

If it helps you, Dems tend to believe that a society is only as good as it treats its poor and its victims - it's a morality thing, but you wouldn't understand. We also believe in kicking Republican ass. My money is on Klobuchar.

For the record, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Her name is Stephanie, she is a Physician Assistant working in cardiology in Honolulu. I'll be joining her there next month. We've been together for over three years, and were just recently engaged (I'll be sure invite you to the wedding Chuck!).

Oh, and if you've got a second, be sure to check out my lame ass record label. If you pick your music like Censored picks his leaders, than you might like Spaghetti Western, they charted really high last year, (#3 add, #25 AAR) so they must be talented musicians, but not as musically talented as, say, Insane Clown Possy or Britney Spears, who are both very successful.

And that, friends, is a literally lovely way to end this thread.
