Operation Yellow Elephant

Pissing Yellow ElephantIf you believe we are in a war between civilizations with our way of life at stake, don't you have a moral obligation to help fight in that war? And I don't mean in the 82nd Chairborne Division.

Jesus' General has a very patriotic campaign going to convince College Republicans to drop their studies in favor of the infantry our nation needs so badly in Iraq. It's called Operation Yellow Elephant.

The General is very patriotic (not French at all) and he know it's best to face weakness head-on. The overwhelming support of the College Republicans for the war is embarassing when compared to their unwillingness to fight.

You can help them save their dignity. Just add this to your blog template (via Goose The Blog):

Jeepers, English "Teach", what's with the failed clairvoyance? Upset? Pffft. More like driving a beer truck through a huge hole in a specious premise.

Oh, yeah - I never actually went to the "General"'s site. It bores me stiff, and judging by the crowd it draws, it seems to accelerate dementia.

I can't speak for the rest of the slackers, but at least a few of us are extremely busy, lazy or just plain AWOL.

CrispyShot,

I think that's easy to dispense with.

Becoming a human shield was ipso facto supporting Saddam Hussein's regime. No serious anti-Iraq war activists supported Saddam (indeed, many of us were against him before it was cool).

If we may take Mitch's point and re-phrase it to be less hyperbolic, it would be "If you were against the war, you should've tried to stop it." On that count, I believe most people who were anti-Iraq war aquit themselves well. In my case, I opposed the war by marching, with money, with my vote in the 2002 election, and by voluteering in support of a candidate that opposed that war.

Since not doing something is easier than doing something, it is more encumbent on Iraq war supporters to put their bodies where their politics are. We did our best to stop the war; we failed. They did their best to get the war; they succeeded. Now, the bill has come due. They must pay it, or they must withdraw. It is immoral to ask another to pay for something that you wanted but refuse to accept.

Who said anything about being against terrorists?

I'm talking about Iraq, specifically in the pre-war period when there was no terrorist threat to America from Iraq.

Mitch Berg is the biggest Yellow Elephant of them all. Never served a day, but sure likes to pump his fist about it now. Trouble is, the only place he pumps his fist is on his keyboard and not in a military uniform.
