White Guilt
Steve Gilliard on lynching: "Yes, my friend, this is 'white guilt' because, oddly enough, white people ARE FUCKING GUILTY. It was white people who dragged often innocent blacks, latinos and Asians to what they called a necktie party."
Nobody rants better than Steve.

string them all up... ha ha just kidding. I am black, my mom is black...there is no logical reason why any legislator oughtn't cosponsor this.
But let's not forget Steve G's views on women who disagree with Kos: “those women needed to shut the fuck up.”
Nothing like wooing the base.
"White guilt" is racism.
There is no excuse.

I found this in the comments on Steve's site and thought it was pretty good:
"Let me add that the term "terrorism" means nothing if it does not include lynching. The purpose of lynching was not the punishment of criminals--though on odd occasions it served this function-- but rather the intimidation of an entire community. Moreover, the Klan was a terrorist organization, bent on denying the ability of democracy to function in the South, and later, the midwest. I don't see how we can wage a war on terror without acknowledging the role violence has played in our own history."
Ryan, Steve has no room to move on such matters this week. Steve's willingness to rant on about race violence loses every ounce of credibility in light of his willinness in the same 24 hour period to conclude:
"Now, I've always been confused as to why a girl would go off with three guys. Was she going to pull a train? Or did she have two spare sex organs for them to use? Because otherwise, that sounds like a really bad decision. One which she should have been warned against. Boys in groups tend to do things they wouldn't do alone. And the expectation of sex must have been high."
But didn't Emmett till only leave with two white men?
MNObserver, I'd have to agree with you on that, as well as your previous comments about Steve. Those kind of comments aren't exactly what I'd expect out of a progressive. Regardless, one of the comments that someone left on his piece was pretty damn good.
"White guilt" is feeling guilty for an action that you did not commit.
"white guilt is feeling guilty for an action you did not commit."
JL:Ridiculous asertion. Just because it's not in the history books doesn't mean you didn't do it.
