Drinking Liberally?

Anyone in the Twin Cities up for a weekly pint o' brew and politics? It would be fun to set up a Drinking Liberally chapter. I'm going to be hella busy until after the election, though!

What bar does everyone think would be best? Should we consult with said bar in advance?

If you are generating an email list, please keep me on it - sounds fun (and if I couldn't come myself, I know two other liberals who might be very interested).

I'm havin' a liberal amount of beer right now.
*braaaaaap*

Yeah let's do it!

I'm biased toward NE Mpls of course... Whitey's, Psycho Suzi's, Nye's...(big booths!)

Well, on the site, they suggest someplace cheap that serves pitchers. I have no problem with NE Mpls. Nyes and Whiteys are great. I also like the Irish pub over there. I think someplace over near the UofM might work well too. I live in uptown... but I never really go to any bars around here. St. Paul has some cool places too. I love the Muddy Pig.

Keagan's would be a great place to start. It is actually quite entertaining to be surrounded by the Right. Elder and St. Paul from Fraters, along with Mitch from Shot in the Dark are usually there for the Thursday trivia contest at 8:00. WiFi is on site, and the beer is not simply a lineup of Domestic brands

Sometimes it is healthy to discuss issues, face to face, with 'The Other Side'. It is also commical to witness their total lack of objectivity.

and I'm biased towards SW Minneapolis -- Red Dragon, strongest drinks in town!

I'm biased towards Summit... er Minneapolis, SLP, whatever.

Oh man, Red Dragon. Deadly. Hey they have some big booths and tables in the other room too, assuming it's not packed. I'd go for that.

Keegans... I'd rather not, in spite of the beer selection.

I'm down with Red Dragon as well.

I'm busy this Friday, but don't let that stop you!

I could use a drink at the Dragon tonight. What time are people going?
