Abstinence Ed for adults

Brilliant. More output from the busy bees in government. The nice social conservatives running the country think that adults between the ages of 20 - 29 need a dose of Abstinence Education. You know, because "...abstaining from sex is the only effective or acceptable method to prevent pregnancy or disease."

It's an ignorant, expensive thing to do and won't affect what it claims to affect. They want to reduce unplanned pregnancies - but they will rise. They want to reduce STDs - but they will also rise.

Idiotic moves like this are exactly why we can't afford to elect Michele Bachmann.

UNRELATED THING:

I finally updated our Minnesota blogroll. Egregious omissions from the dark past, such as MN Publius, etc. are finally in their righteous place. Right next to the liquor cabinet.

You're right.

What the country needs is to get Bubba Clinton back to telling kids that blowjobs and cigar probing don't count as sex.

And if we can convince an unpaid volunteer to accompany Bubba on his tour the whole darned thing can be pulled off for free..bonus!

Hey Swiftee -- glad to see you've given up on that whole conservative ideology thing. You want government to be your parent, even if you're an adult huh? Because you're a big baby who doesn't know any better? Glad to see you finally admit it, and once again express it, by responding with "Bubba" and "blowjobs" rather than actually saying anything about this idiotic policy.

This story makes me wonder where the GOP has actually disappeared to. You know, the GOP about personal responsibility, anti-nanny state, smaller government, individual and property rights, local (not Federal) control...this story is against all of that. The GOP, conservatives especially, should be outraged at this AND that dumb nanny-state impose-our-morals-on-everyone online gambling ban bill.

Instead, they throw all of those 'beliefs' aside and become apologists for anyone with an 'R' behind their name.

Jeeze, I just can't win with this bunch can I?

Here I go and agree with the posse and further, agree that the left had a waaay better plan in practise and I get ripped.

Of course if you tell people that having sex before you're ready to accept the responsibility that comes with it can lead to an unplanned pregnancy, causing you to become a burden to your friends, neighbors and society in general they will go right out and get that little thing done with out delay. QED baby!

And I even pointed out that the lefty program doesn't burden us with wasteful spending!

Dang man, what more do you want?

Is this part of that lefty self-loathing thing? Kind of a "I am crap, so any group that accepts me is crap, and if you are part of the group you're crap too" philosophy?
