What can Powerline possibly be thinking?

There is a remarkable string of posts at Powerline that attempt to make the case that the media, oh, excuse me, the MSM, along with it's puppet master "The Far Left" are to blame for the perception that the Bush Administration's response to Katrina was slow and ineffective.

They pat themselves on the back for being brave enough to criticize the Administration for...failing to respond forcefully enough to the "unfair attacks from the far left." Yet they witness tens of thousands of desperate U.S. Citizens wait for help while their government looks like a cross between the Keystone cops and a Chinese Fire Drill led by a president that compares unfavorably to Nero, and cannot register a genuine critical complaint about the competence with which the Bush team has conducted itself during this crisis.

This is simply astounding. It's astounding enough that they immediately politicize any criticism of Bush by simply asserting that all charges are manufactured by the MSM, Democrats and the Left - which are all the same thing in their eyes. But it is even more astounding that they can witness this tragic parade of incompetence, witness it be denounced with outrage by the left, the right, the center, the up, the down, damn near everybody - and still - still - not demand accountability from their leader. Where does the buck stop if not with Bush?

It makes me wonder what would have to happen to spoil the taste of the koolaid.

ps. What's wrong with this picture? Hint: Is it ever ok for the person in charge of leading relief efforts for the largest natural disastor in this nation's history to claim he's out of the loop?

There are four things you probably can't do successfully:

Argue with sick minds, wrestle with pigs, herd cats, and convince lemmings not to follow the leader.

These characters who still defend Bush are brain dead, brain washed, and for the most part self-demonstrated illiterates. Don't let them get to you too much.

Yeah, I think we may have to start taking countermeasures...

Since Chris didn't link to any of Powerline's posts in particular, I must say that this one is simply stunning.

JH, For someone who spouts his distigiushed carrer and accomplishments. Your posts continue to show what a shallow minded fool you truly are.

My "distiguished" career? I had no such thing. Just your standard issue career officer.

Thanks for making my point, by the way.

What point would that be JH? That if someone chooses to look at all the facts in a complete unbiased fashion. If someone chooses to read and listen to how this all unfolded up to today even. And when someone chooses to form there own opinion from these facts they are called "brain dead, brain washed, and for the most part self-demonstrated illiterates." Point taken!!!
Tuesday 9/1, FEMA director calls Louisiana governor and New Oleans mayor. He is told that what the media is reporting is worse case and that they have things under control.
Wednesday 9/2, Governor calls feds and says we need help. Within 2 days the feds have mobalized over 20,000 soldiers and supplies and are moving into the city. I think thats pretty impressive. The initial question should be why wasn't that call made Monday or Tuesday. The FEMA director should be critisized for not recognizing the utter complete lack of or non-exsitent leadership in the area. He should have taken over immediatly, not 4 days later. Since blame is what you choose to do at the new Patriot, make sure you pass it around to those who deserve it. President Bush would be on that list, but certainly not at the top.

The really sick part is that the press is polling already.

They want to know if they are having an impact. More exactly, the "correct" (ie anti-Bush) impact.

In the spirit of Cappy Huber's remarks, here's four things the Dems can't do.

1. Reconcile the difference between AL and LA. This is going to be tougher and tougher to explain as the mud washes away.

2. Explain why Bush is being blamed when the "fiddlers" who let it burn were the Mayor of NO and Governor of LA. This story is coming out now, the 2,000 buses, National Guard troops playing cards (FYI, the "National Guard" isn't national, its really the state of LA's army.)

3. Forward any agenda beyond "Bush is wrong." This isn't new, but its still true.

4. Why they keep Sharpton and the rest of the race baiting clowns on the payroll. Its pretty clear that the hurricane is color-blind. These guys aren't adding value to the discussion. You need to cut them loose.

Ray Nagin was right. For the first time in his life he told a fact. God is mad at New Oleans. Highest crime rate, most on welfare, full of queers, debochery and other kind of filth imaginable. They shouldn't complain they like filth so God gave them some that will be around for awhile.

God gets tired and fedup after awhile and so am I.

Ray Nagin, New Oleans, and the states of Mississippi and Louisiana need to repent and turn from their ways or you ain't seen nothin yet.
