Friday Flashback!

It must be in the national interests, it must be in our vital interests whether we ever send troops. The mission must be clear. Soldiers must understand why we're going. The force must be strong enough so that the mission can be accomplished. The exit strategy needs to be well-defined. I'm concerned that we're overdeployed around the world. See, I think the mission has become somewhat fuzzy."

Bush has been clear, Victory is the exit strategy in Iraq.

That's because this was an invasison to overthrow a tyrant. It doesn't compare with limited military involvement like Somolia, where we had no intention of winning, and that deployment was without proper scope etc.

These are apples and oranges comparisons.

if the war in iraq was to "overthrow a tyrant" and that tyrant is now in a holding cell eating sugary breakfast cereal, then hasn't "victory" been achieved?
