Happy May Day
Every May for the last 20 years, an amazing event takes place in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood. In the Heart of the Beast's May Day parade is a celebration of the return of Spring...
...with awesome puppets...
And a great party...
(The Formerly Known play a set on the parade route.)
...But also a somber message about how we're treating our fellow humans and the Earth... 
...with a call to action.

oh my gosh. i was searching through the net for pictures from mayday. and then i saw something quite familiar...myself!
i am the girl i the red/orange/yellow costume. it was my second year of stilting in the parade, and i had run out of time to make my own costume, so this was one of those available.
i did make my yellow stilt pants though!
of course, this photo managed to capture me with my mouth wide open.
so. yeah. i am still quite surprised. thanks for spreading the word on mayday!
