This should go down in the headline hall of fame:

Nation split on Bush as uniter or divider

That pretty much sums up itself.

I think the new patriot is a great divider. I don't care if you hate the president or not, but your complete lack of respect for the Presidency is revolting. And Dykstra, you talk about you are the troops, i have 3 boys in the service and if you ever talk your shit in front of me I would punch you in the fucking face. Because that's the kind of guy I am.

Well Pal my son is in Iraq and from what he says, he and many of his fellow soldiers aren't too pleased with President Bush's handling of things. When he returns he'd probably buy somebody like Mr. Dykstra a beer. If a jerk like you showed up, you'd be pinned in no less than 7 seconds. He wouldn't punch you in your "fucking face" but you'd be out on the curb before you knew what hit you.

From what I remember Mr. Dykstra or someone else that runs this site said that he was the troops in response to some other nutbag who said "he" was the troops.

Part I

Oh, that's beautiful. You would punch my ---- face in. I'll pray for you. Perhaps while we wait for my prayer to take effect, you can look up the words "cowardly" and "sanctimonious." Look in the mirror. Now meditate.

Part II

I am grateful to your sons. But here's a little secret. You can't meet a group of people in America anywhere, and that includes on this blog, without bumping into someone who has family or friends serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, or some other place where the US military is out doing the nation's business. Do not, ever, presume to know to whom you speak or to know what any individual or family has sacrificed for America. You never know. One of my family members or one of my friends might be the one who saves your sons's backsides.

Part III

I respect the presidency like all get out. But you know what I respect more? The constitution. The American ideal. Integrity. Honesty. The will of the people. When I don't agree with the President, I am honor bound as a citizen of the best country on the face of the planet to shout it to the rooftops. We have a participatory republic. I participate. You can punch me if you want to for holding the beliefs I hold, but you would go to jail, thank God. Anyway, your vision of America, where we all say the pledge, support the president's policies, wave the flag and kick the shit out of all those hippies and liberals who might disagree, and GET IN LINE, DAMMIT - that vision is not the vision of a mature American. It always amazes me when some anonymous militaristic chump tells me to shut up in the name of freedom.

Listen, friend: What is it exactly that you hate about America? What don't you like or don't understand about freedom? One would hope that your sons are not fighting for your right to punch my face in. One would hope they are fighting for my right to say what I want to say. And for your right to say what you want to say.

Part IV

Out of sheer respect for the Presidency, I bet you just shut your mouth and waved the flag during all those Clinton years didn't you? That's what I thought. Add "hypocrite" to your list of words.

Part V
I am the troops. We are all the troops. But for the grace of God, there go I. Citizen soldiers fighting bravely. I have friends and family serving. We all do or know someone who does. We are all connected. There isn't a you and me in this matter. There isn't an us and them. There is only a we and us.
