New Keith Ellison Ad

I went down to the Minnesota State Fair with Keith Ellison's adorable daughter, Amirah, and asked people: "How can we make America better?" Basically, a Minnesota Story-as-campaign ad. Labor Day is the perfect time to unveil this ad, since Keith is the DFL and Labor-endorsed candidate.

Please spread the word! You can embed it in your blog by copying and pasting the code below.

More options: Blip.tv (best quality), YouTube, Google video

Disclaimer: I was hired by the Ellison campaign to produce this ad.

Watch for the longer "Director's Cut" version on mnstories.com Monday, with bloopers and responses from everyone who talked to us. It's fun, and totally includes one or more Republicans!

I tried to add the code to my blog, but it just appears as the top-left corner of the video (with scrollbars at bottom and right), is there a way to get it to shrink-to-fit? Or am I just incompetent?

Hmm, could you try it now? When I first posted the embed code there was a typo, now fixed. Seems to work on Blogger and Typepad, Mac/Safari and PC/IE.

Why not? After you wash your hands, Nihad Awad's money spends just as well as anyone else's.

Tell us Chuck, any chance the directors cut has footage of Awad and Keith X ripping the crap out of a sand dune with AK47's?

That'd be like, teh awesome.

As soon as YouTube's upload is working again -- yes. :-) Google Video, Yahoo video, you name it.

This is far far better quality though -- please use this if you can. YouTube compresses the living crap out of their video, doesn't support widescreen format, and slaps their logo over it. Email me if I can me of assistance.

You won't find me getting into the mud. Enough mud has been flung in this campaign, most of it at Ellison. The great thing about this ad is we went down to the Fair and asked real people about the future of this country. Wouldn't it be great if we focused more on that, and less on dirt?

Bloopers? Oh yeah baby...

Awad: Rip 'er up X!

Keith X: It's jammed!!

Awad: You have to pull back the bolt and then just....

(Cut to wide shot where X's '47 goes off suddenly and shoots off a couple of a bystanders toes.)

Spoken like a guy who has just recieved money from a guy who accepts support from Hamas front groups.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Nice work Chuck. I posted it. It's positive and about real people, which I like better than the ads that are about the candidate.

Too bad it looks like you're being engaged by folks without ideas.

I re-pasted it into the Cheek template and it seems to work fine now... great ad! I hope those two cowboys are wearing pants...

sweet!
btw I was wrong, YouTube does support widescreen. they letterbox it.

naked cowboys at the state fair, now that would be a Minnesota story.

Is this thing ever going to air on TV? It is getting too much play. It is essenitally a Youtube creation, not a political TV ad.

I'm not sure if it will air on TV. Nor do I understand the rest of your comment -- too much play, a "YouTube creation"? It's an online political ad, and they're nothing terribly new.

Keep up the good work.

Nice ad. It looks good, and wholesome.

Swifty, go away. Your posts on another blog have already shown your fearmongering and, well, intolerance of him just because he's Muslim. What scares you about him, swifty? He's not bearded nor Arabic-speaking, and he's not even pro-life, which Muslims generally endorse.
